Of course he is confident. We have been too afraid to ever turn him down. And even if we say no, he has always gone ahead and done whatever he wanted, generally at our expense.

They gave us a “whole week” to pay attention and say no way. But as usual, we chose panic instead of common sense.

This blog is not “out there” yet, in the thick of things, but Ariana Huffington, if you’re listening — pass this on…

In the past eight years, when has Mr. Bush asked for billions and trillions of dollars that found it’s way back to the people it belonged to? Except for the Elite One Percent, how many of us are better off now than we were before this administration?
“They” are not struggling financially, or losing homes, and their children are not being mangled and killed in a foreign country, fighting a war that most US Citizens are still not clear as to why we are there.

The truth? Nothing they have done has improved our lives. If Congress is in confusion about the legitimacy of this astronomical amount of bail out, why would we go ahead and okay this?

Mr. Bush has been telling us that the economy was just fine. All the while, incurring huge debt and deficts, borrowing like crazy from China.

So were the companies being invested in on Wall Street reporting false earnings all this time? Or, was there a sudden and shocking downturn this last quarter that sent everything topsy turvey?

Suggestion: Launch a longer investigation as to what happened, then get back to us with the facts, report it loudly and clearly, and let the people of this nation decide by a special election as to what should be done. $700 Billion is a lot of money for taxpayers to just give away in a rush of panic. It’s reminiscent of how Mr. Bush just ignored everyone and just bullied his way into a war.

Remember, we allowed it because we were told there was clear evidence of “weapons of mass destruction”…and then there were no such evidence. We were supposed to be going after Bin Laden for attacking our country. And then we were suddenly going after Iraq for those illusive weapons. And now, we’re shelving out unheard of money for corrupt Executives.

Are we all sedated? Nancy Reagan said it best: JUST SAY NO!

Politicians are dilly dallying on this bail out “crime” because they are waiting to see if we are asleep, and if they can get away with it.

If we don’t say anything, you know, like demonstrate some sign of righteous outrage, some semblance that we are paying attention, then ….WATCH! They will steal 700 BILLION DOLLARS from us and give it to themselves before the week is up.

That is why they are playing the rush game on us, like cheezy salesmen, “Buy now or it will be gone!”

Intimidation, scare tactics, “Great Depression” Oh No! Take the money, take the money. Please TAKE THE MONEY and RUN back to your mansions and yachts and send your offspring to Ivy League campuses this fall without a financial worry. And send our offspring to war to steal and kill for you. That’s the ticket.

Back in the 70’s Teddy Pendagrass crooned:

“Wake up everybody, no more sleeping in bed. It’s time for thinking instead… No more war and poverty…And they don’t have so very long before their Judgement Day.”

Sing it again Teddy. Louder this time. Because the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Maybe one day, we will wake up. Sooner than later. Because these guys are out of control. And why not? We are just standing back watching like casual observers. But what can we do really?

Mmmmm. Any ideas?

Are we headed for another Great Depression? Or worse, is the U.S. descending headlong into a Third World future? Or, is it all just Hype?

Can we prevent our worse fears from happening?

First, we need to stop the stealing. Unfortunately, we just can’t seem to find the time to get these cattlemen in line. We’re too distracted with our lives.

For instance, do you ever feel as though someone keeps moving the finish line?

Like, just when you think you’re about to catch up with, say — your bills, your work, some long, drawn out “issue” that just never seems to give an inch or go away, like a legal matter, say — a divorce, or a custody battle, or those pesky student loans, family squabbles?

And then something happens to just pull you back under. Like there is this grand conspiracy to just keep you distracted with petty, mindnumbing, BS! You know?

Maybe you don’t know. Maybe you’re one of the lucky few whose life is just rolling along on a highway to heaven, blue skies, bright sun, just enough rain. There you are whistling, smiling, happy go lucky you. Wink Wink. All XOXO.

It’s like there are these two parallel universes — one with people who keep getting close to the finish line, and it disappears, and they have to start over or keep going around in a circle to nowhere; and the other universe is filled with people who see the finish line clearly, cross it and move on to their next success.

John Lennon said it best:
“If everyone demanded peace instead of another television set, then there’d be peace.”

Interpretation: it’s up to us, the masses, to monitor what political leaders do to us financially, politically, and ethically; and how they treat other countries, in the name of this nation. It’s up to us to convince our leaders to choose Peace and not war. If that is what we want.

It makes sense that after 9/11, we wanted justice. We wanted the culprits caught and tried and punished.

But according to the popular choice, no one wanted war. Especially after the alleged “weapons of mass destruction” never materialized. So why did we end up in Iraq, do we really know? And are we satisfied with that choice? If not, why is it still going on?

The upcoming Presidential nomination weighs heavy on everyone, worldwide. No one wants another Election 2000. An openly international embarassment. Since Election 2000, we are far from a “United” States. We are divided on just about everything. How do we find our way back to the strong, reputable land of freedom and democracy for all?

Maybe the question is not what do we want, but what do we need — as a nation? What’s most important to us?

We should begin by taking a look at where we are as a nation after the past eight years. The most volatile era since Viet Nam.

First, let’s look at the facts about the economy. Is it really as bad as the media reports to us? Has unemployment been at an all time low for the past 8 years? Why did the Dow drop so drastically this past week? Was the foreclosure tragedy avoidable?
